Vegan Chai Latte

This Vegan Chai Latte is made with anti-inflammatory spices (ginger and cinnamon) so it can actually aid with gut health rather than disrupt it.

Vegan Chai Latte

Prep time: 0 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Total time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 cups Chai

Equipment

Medium saucepan (see mine!)
Plastic spatula
Mason jar

Ingredients

4 cups water
3 black tea bags
2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp black pepper

Other ingredients:
Cashew milk
Optional sweeteners (agave nectar, maple syrup, honey)

Instructions

  1. Add water and tea bags to a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil then reduce to a rapid simmer, letting the tea steep for 2 additional minutes after boiling.
  2. Remove tea bags and add all spices. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and transfer to a glass jar to store in the fridge.
  4. To prepare latte: combine 2 parts chai and 1 part cashew milk. Serve over ice or hot.
